New Roof Installation-Process

the roofing installation process on time and on budget. Here are the 15 steps as follows:
i. Peck out the Roof
ii. Stand up battens
iii. Lay on battens
iv. Cut in battens
v. Nailing off battens with a nail gun
vi. Bumping up tiles all over the roof.
vii.Sheeting in tiles – to cover the whole roof with tiles and make it watertight
viii.Cutting of hips and valleys
ix. Bedding down ridge caps – on the hips. (They bed down valleys too, but only in Melbourne).
x. Whee poling the Top Ridges
xi. Pointing up the roof ridge caps – with flexi
xii.Clean up the dags – the mess made through bedding & pointing process.
xiii.Change and replace all broken roof tiles – to prevent roof leakage.
xiv.Blow off the dust off the whole roof – Using a blower machine.
xv. Cleaning of the Gutters – its the last step done and then the tools will be packed up into the
trailer and then the roof tilers will go home for the day.
Roofing Materials
There are 9 different types of materials to be used for the roof construction. The materials are as
follows:
xvi. Battens
xvii. Sacking
xviii. Nails
xix. Roof tiles
xx. Ridge Caps
xxi. Sand
xxii. Cement
xxiii. Water
xxiv. Flexi—Pointing
Roof Size Measurements
We measure the roof size by doing either of these three measurements methods in order for us to
know the materials quantity needed for each roof before we even start the roof installation process.
This calculation method allows us to know how many roof tiles and other materials needed,
depending on the roof size. The Roof Measurement step by step options are as follows:
A]. Roof Size Measurements through — reading the plans on the computer.
B]. Roof Size Measurements through – On-site measurements using a measuring tape.
C]. Roof Size Measurements through – using Google Earth Maps on the computer to know how big is
the roof size. We call it Roofing Square metes [m2] for example: you could say: the roof is 300m2
[300Square Meters].
Material Quantity Calculations.
1. We need 13 – Roof tiles per square meters.
2. We need 3.4Ln meters of battens per square meters [m2]
3. We need 3 Lengths of Ridge caps per Ln meters.
4. We need 7×10L of Flexi buckets per 200 Ridge Caps.
5. We need To find the length of ridge capping required to cover one hip, measure the distance from
the ridge line to the fascia on the roof plan (here 4000mm) and the gutter overhang and multiply by
the Hip Length Roof Slope Factor for 30 degrees. Multiply by 4.

Materials Pricing-Supply Quoting

Here is the step by step on how we do our quoting process-Supply & Install as it’s also called.
Firstly we do the measurements, and then we do materials calculations based on the roof size, and
then we send off the materials quantity document to our roof tiles suppliers indicating how much
materials we need and then the suppliers will send back a materials quote to us including the
delivery costs of roofing materials to the property being built. The customer will then pay the
invoice to our suppliers. And then the supplier will ship the materials to the property address.

Labor Pricing – Installation Quote

We also prepare a Labor pricing quote to the customer. Saying how much money it will cost them
for us to do the labor. Based on the m2 the roof has, we will charge the client per square meters
[m2]. For example we could say it will cost the client $90.00 per m2 [square meters].
[$90.00×200m2]. If the roofing client accepts the quote, we will then go ahead with the roof
installation service. We also may ask for up to 50% of the labor cost paid upfront as a deposit and
then get paid the rest after the completion of the roof installation.
Leaking Roof repairs
There are 5 reasons why your roof is leaking. Here is the list of the things that will definitely cause
your roof leakage:

3. Cracked ridge caps—Re-Pointing is required.
4. Water may come in from around the solar hot water systems or around Whirlybirds, flashing, and
or around the chimney flue.
5. Water may come inside through the valley trays-wrongly cut roof valley tile pieces.

Tile Roof vs Tin Roof
Choose your roofing material before you choose your roof tiler. There are 3 reasons why to choose
tile roofs. Here are the 3 reasons listed below:
1. Roof tiles are good even in hot or sunny weather. While tin roofs make the house hotter because
it’s metal and it’s a heat conductor.
2. Every tile on your roof is important. If there is anything wrong with a tile, it can easily be
replaced. While if there is anything wrong with a tin sheet, the whole roof have to be ripped apart
just to replace the faulty tin sheet… It is harder to replace all those big tin sheets than just one
small lousy roof tile, which is very easy to replace.
3. Roof tiling has existed for over 2,000 years since Jesus was in this world before He went to back
into Heaven.
The Holy Bible Talks About Roof Tiling

Jesus Heals A Paralytic
18 Some men came carrying a paralysed man on a mat and
tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19
When they could not find a way to do this because of the
crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat
through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of
Jesus.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said,
“Friend, your sins are
forgiven.” Tut Roofing – Roofing Services in Perth
